Armada House is in Bristol City Centre, near the Bristol Hippodrome, and is a 15-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads Station, which is under a mile away. Buses from Temple Meads and other parts of the city stop nearby. For those coming by car from some distance, we recommend you consider using Bristol’s Park & Ride service at Long Ashton (to the south-west), Brislington  (to the south-east) and Portway (Avonmouth) to the north-west – see here.

The small car park at Armada House is only to be used by drivers with a disability, and spaces need to be reserved in advance using the contact form. There are 16 Pay & Display car parks within a mile radius; Queen Charlotte Street and Princess Street are the nearest (and more expensive), with The Grove and Canon’s Way approximately 5 minutes’ walk away and cheaper. The participants contact list that will be sent out in advance of the lecture will enable people to arrange to share cars if they so wish. Armada House and the Marianne Fry Lecture organising committee encourage visitors to use alternative means of travel or car-sharing where possible.
